Who is Kele Foko…detailed description of yourself and what you do?
Kelebogile Foko is a wife, mother, Plus Size fashion designer and stylist Kelebogile Foko has been at the forefront of the South African fashion industry. Launching her newest clothing line her online store, the fashion expert with over 10 years of experience in styling says she’s excited about her new journey. Kele as she’s fondly known has worked on numerous TV shows and productions styling celebrities. She now seeks to fulfill her childhood dream of owning a clothing store.
How did you decide to start your own image consulting company?
With almost 10 years in the fashion industry as a stylist I wanted expand my business and help people cultivate a professional or updated appearance.
To offer clients counseling and assistance in image enhancement, which can include appearance, social etiquette, branding and more.
What is one thing you wish you would have known as a young professional woman just starting out in her career?
Business is about helping people not turning profit. Also that it’s lonely to own a business on your own, business partner can lessen the burden.
How did you develop an interest in fashion and beauty?
From a very young age I’ve always loved the transformative, the effect that clothes can have on how people see you and how you also see yourself. Looking good can bring out confidence that you didn’t even think you have.
WHAT’S EXCITING TO YOU ABOUT THE FASHION INDUSTRY?
Working in the fashion industry allows you to meet a lot of people. There’s a lot I have learned about people around me with experience. To be in the fashion industry allowed me to express freedom of creativity.
WHAT DOES FASHION MEAN TO YOU?
Fashion is a language that tells your identity. Wear clothes that you are comfortable and feel confident in.
WHAT DOES BEAUTY MEAN TO YOU?
Beauty means feeling good about yourself and appreciating your imperfections. Beauty is power!!!
ONE BEAUTY TIP THAT YOU LIVE BY?
Always wear your SMILE. The act of smiling throws a little feel good party in your brain. You’re viewed as attractive when you smile.
HOW DO YOU THINK THE FASHION INDUSTRY CAN IMPROVE?
If the mass-production of cheap clothes is reduced. This leads to quality being compromised.

ANY EXCITING PROJECTS WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT?
I’m launching my online fashion label shop, #KeleFoko collection has teamed up with great digital and web developers to create an online platform on www.kelefoko.co.za which will educate women about the importance of knowing your body shape before buying clothes. The combined utility of the website and content provided be Kele aims to become a one stop were women can learn and discover themselves through fashion.
All the clothes are manufactured from premium prints fabrics, some of the fabrics are sourced from neighboring countries such as Zimbabwe and Mozambique. In September 2020 Kele wishes to collaborate with other plus size clothing brands to host a fashion show, to empower women who strive to look the best.
