The new technique is brow GEL for the eyebrows that lacks shape. Some opt for microblading (semi-permanent tattoo technique) to create fuller eyebrows. This all can take up to 30 to 40 minutes, depending on how full you want your brows to look. Clients are encouraged to schedule a follow up appointment four to six weeks after to make sure they are happy with the results.
“Your brows are way too important when putting make up on your face to make a mistake,” says Nikki Pitso a Johannesburg based celebrity make up.

TIPS ON HOW TO SHAPE YOUR EYEBROWS
- Identify where your inner brow should end,
- Determine the peak of your arch,
- Identify where your outer brow should end,
- Draw a line using the eye pencil at the bottom edge of your eyebrow,
- Pluck those strays that are outside the marks you have made
Solution: DIY EYEBROW GEL
What you’ll need:
- Empty mascara tube
- Mini plastic funnel
- 1/2 teaspoon powdered agar powder
- Wood mixing stick
- Lavender essential oil
- Heat-proof jar
- 1/2 cup warm water
Add the agar powder to the warm water.
Mix the water until the powder is completely dissolved.
Add 3-6 drops of lavender essential oil.
Mix well with a wood mixing stick to evenly disperse the oil throughout the mixture.
Remove the brush and rubber stopper. Place the funnel in the tube.
Carefully pour the liquid mixture into the tube.
Fill the mascara tube until there is about 1/2 inch of space left. Do not fill the mascara tube to the top to leave room for the wand.
Place the brush back into the tube, without the rubber stopper. Let sit for 4-8 hours until the mixture becomes a gel consistency.
Once the gel has settled, move the brush in and out of the tube to break up the gel.
Insert the rubber stopper back into the tube. This will remove excess gel each time you take out the brush.
Store in a cool, dry place. Discard the gel after three months. Before reusing the tube and brush, wash thoroughly with soap and water.
